Hey Everyone,

We are raising funds and awareness for the Make-A-Wish Foundation by inviting 300 people to either give or raise $1500 for the opportunity to rappell down the One American Center on June 15 & 16 of 2013.  This is a 32 Floor building located at 6th and Congress.

 The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with Hope, Strength, & Joy.

 

What started out as a simple goggle search to find a way to help those in need turned out to be an amazing experience. After all the fires in my town and seeing the lives it changed and being so fortunate to be the lucky one it made me feel the need to help. I have always felt that it's the experiences we have during our lives that are what's important and in the end are what matters over just material things. That's why I love the Make A Wish Foundation because they give those with terminal illnesses an experience of a life time. I had heard about the rappelling last year and had thought that would be amazing since I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie but I had forgotten all about it. I never thought I would reach the $1500.00 goal which would have allow me to rappel. I signed up to help the kids and in the end I did just that, as well as surprised  myself by reaching my goal. I learned one thing - this year I will set a higher goal because I can do it !! So please help me reach $3000.00

As I stood on that roof top with a group of Military men and a teenage boy hearing the selfless act of one with so much to over come it made me see the kindness still left in the world. This teenage kid  who did his own fund raising for the cause, plus he wanted to give back to those who serve our country. He set a high goal so that not only could he rappel but also 4 military men that he didn't even know. This was his way of saying thanks for serving.

The thing about accomplishing something you thought you never could is it makes you realize anything is attainable if you just try.
