For the first time, I'm going Over The Edge to raise funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas.
My challenge is to be one of the first 200 fundraisers to raise a minimum of $2,000 to earn a spot to go Over The Edge -- repelling 38 stories from the top of the W Hotel.
Make-A-Wish has been dear to me since I got involved in college through Chi Omega Fraternity, whose national philanthropy is Make-A-Wish. After moving to Austin a little over a year ago, I began volunteering with Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas as a Wish Granter and it's been one of the best experiences to be a part of the wish granting process and helping make it happen for the wish kids and their families when they really need it.
The thought of stepping off the very top of the W and repelling 38 stories is just as scary as it is exciting to me, but it would mean that I was able to raise $2,000 for a cause that means so much to me.
More than 500 children in central and south Texas are diagnosed each year with a life-threatening medical condition. Last year, Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas granted 266 wishes for local children. You can help Make-A-Wish® reach more of these children and create hope, strength and joy in their lives. Money raised by rappellers goes towards granting these wishes.
You can also rappel with me by signing up to go Over The Edge too! Click here to register.
I hope you can help me reach my goal and help make a difference in the lives of children who need it most!
