I am raising funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas by joining 200 people on June 9th & 10th, 2018, to go Over The Edge - literally!  Over The Edge challenges you to face your fears, catch your breath, step up to the edge and rappel from the 32nd story of 600 Congress in the heart of downtown. The first 200 fundraisers to raise a minimum of $1,500 will earn a spot to go Over The Edge.

I am rappeling for Alyssa, the daughter of Jacob Rosales who is one of my awesome coworkers at HomeAway. Here is Alyssa's story:

September of 2008 was the day my life changed forever. One day on the playground my right side of my body went completely numb, and I was rushed to the nurses office to find that I was suffering from a severe stroke. After being rushed to the children’s hospital, and immediately going into a 14-hour surgery my life was forever changed. I suffer from what is known as a Arteriovenous Malformation that affects the veins in my brain. This brain disorder affects only one percent of the general population. After many months in the hospital, my life never went back to normal. I lost a lot of motion and feeling in the right side of my body and had to go into physical and occupational therapy to help me regain function.
Nearly six years after my first time in the hospital, I was faced with yet another Arteriovenous Malformation in my brain. I underwent cyber knife radiation to help remove the cluster of veins. However this because this radiation is a very precise and detailed radiation to only affect the targeted area, it will take 2-5 years for the cluster to be completely erased.
Throughout my journey I have experienced times of difficulties and excitement by regaining almost complete function on the right side of my body to having to be strong through another journey with Arteriovenous Malformation. Thankfully I was given the opportunity to be given a wish through the Make a Wish foundation. My dream wish is to model in New York fashion week and be able to participate in the weeks festivities. I would love the opportunity to travel to one of the world fashion capitals. I am very thankful for this opportunity and appreciate all that the Make A Wish foundation and Over the Edge has done for me.

I am also rappeling for other kids like Alyssa and Cris, my cousin who received his own Make-A-Wish several years ago to throw the first pitch at an Astros game. It was such a memorable trip for him that we still talk about about today. Excited to help get Alyssa to NYC and others on their own memorable trip!

Can your employer match your donation?? You can forward the confirmation email from your employer to crgemillion@cstx.wish.org that states the match was requested and/or approved and the amount and person to who it should be applied (ME!). The funds will then be applied to my campaign pending actual receipt of the money from your company.

More than 550 children in central and south Texas are diagnosed each year with a critical medical condition. Last year, Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas granted 283 wishes for local children. You can help Make-A-Wish® reach more of these children and create hope, strength and joy in their lives. Money raised by rappellers goes towards granting these wishes.

You can also rappel with me by signing up to go Over The Edge too! Click here to register.
I hope you can help me reach my goal and help make a difference in the lives of children who need it most!
